AGG Perkins 4000 Series Container Generators Deployed for Large Mining Site in Indonesia

An open-pit metal mine in Indonesia has long suffered from unstable grid voltage and frequent power outages, which would lead to massive economic losses once mining operations are interrupted. The project contractor finally selected containerized high-voltage generator sets powered by original Perkins 4000 Series engines from AGG as the primary backup power supply for the entire mine. The complete equipment finished production, shipment, on-site installation and commissioning within three months and was officially put into operation.

1. Key Operating Challenges of the Project

The mine features a tropical environment with heavy dust and high humidity. Units operate outdoors long-term without dedicated engine rooms;

The site is far from urban areas, resulting in long intervals between fuel refills and routine maintenance;

The mine power distribution system adopts the 11kV high-voltage standard, which cannot be matched by ordinary low-voltage generator sets;

Each unit is equipped with a Perkins 4016TAG1A  4016-61TRG1V16 diesel engine with a rated power of 2030kVA, and three units are configured for parallel operation:
