Perkins Showcases Generator Set Power and Remote Monitoring Technology at Middle East Energy Exhibition

Recently, Perkins brought its 2606 medium-power engine and 5012 high-power electronic-controlled power generation engine to the Middle East Energy Exhibition in Dubai. The brand displayed power solutions, intelligent monitoring systems and multi-fuel compatible technologies for the global generator set market, attracting numerous overseas genset manufacturers and EPC contractors for on-site communication and negotiation.

Two flagship models were displayed at the event, covering mainstream power segments for overseas projects. The 2606 is a 13-liter inline six-cylinder engine specially designed for power generation. It delivers 350–550 kVA under 50Hz operation with excellent load acceptance performance. Adaptable to high-temperature and high-altitude environments, it is ideal for equipping silent generator sets used in commercial buildings, small factories and communication stations. The 5012 belongs to the new fully electronic-controlled 5000 series, focusing on high-power standby power for data centers and large mining projects. It features higher power density and a compact structure for easy integration into containerised generator sets.

Besides hardware products, the spotlight was on Perkins’ remote condition monitoring system. This solution collects real-time operating data of generator sets, including coolant temperature, oil pressure, load rate, running hours and fault codes. Overseas owners and OEM manufacturers can check unit operating conditions remotely to predict faults in advance and implement preventive maintenance. It greatly cuts on-site inspection costs for remote construction sites, suiting unattended power supply projects in Africa and the Middle East.

Perkins power supports both 50Hz and 60Hz grid standards. Emission solutions can be selected to comply with regulations of different regions for export. At the exhibition, technical teams offered optimization suggestions on fuel adaptability, air filter & cooling system upgrades and genuine parts supply, which are major concerns of overseas buyers. Supported by its global authorized dealer network, technical support and original spare parts are accessible quickly no matter where the units are deployed.

As infrastructure projects in the Middle East and Africa keep driving power demand, overseas purchasers pay attention not only to unit reliability, but also to intelligent operation and maintenance capabilities. Drawing on nearly a century of experience in power R&D, Perkins continuously optimizes load response and fuel economy of power generation engines while investing in digital monitoring services, providing differentiated selling points for Chinese foreign trade enterprises of generator sets.

Industry insiders believe that Perkins’ product portfolio exhibited at the exhibition meets market demands for both medium and high power ranges. The intelligent monitoring system further adds value to complete gensets. For Chinese generator set exporters, gensets powered by Perkins help them better bid for overseas power projects and expand orders in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.
