4 Perkins High-power Generator Sets Delivered to Algerian Hospital to Strengthen Emergency Power Supply for Medical Facilities

Recently, a domestic complete-set manufacturer delivered four 1100kVA generator sets powered by Perkins. The equipment has been successfully shipped to a public hospital in Algeria, where installation and commissioning have been completed, and officially put into use for medical emergency standby power supply to ensure uninterrupted power for operating rooms, ICUs and imaging equipment.

The project adopts Perkins 4008TAG2A 4008TAG2engine as the prime mover. The units are designed and manufactured in strict accordance with ISO8528 and CE international standards, meeting Class 1 load power requirements for hospitals and supporting parallel operation with the local power grid. The power grid in Algeria suffers from instability, and sudden blackouts may directly endanger patients’ lives. Therefore, the project imposes stringent requirements on the units in terms of start-up speed, load-carrying capacity and long-term operational reliability. In case of mains failure, Perkins generator sets can start rapidly and take over full medical loads smoothly to eliminate power outage risks.

To adapt to the high-temperature and sandy climate in North Africa, the units are equipped with dust-proof structures and large-capacity cooling systems, enabling stable continuous operation under high-temperature conditions. Fitted with an intelligent control system, the units integrate multi-protection functions including low oil pressure, high temperature and overspeed, and support remote monitoring of operating parameters, allowing maintenance personnel to track equipment status in real time. The original engines enjoy mature spare parts supply channels. Relying on Perkins’ regional service network in North Africa, spare parts and on-site technical support can be provided promptly to ease maintenance difficulties in remote areas.

Hospitals are a key application scenario for Perkins generator sets. Medical sites demand extremely high safety and stability of power supply. Thanks to excellent load acceptance performance, high-power Perkins units have long served medical institutions worldwide. The successful delivery of this Algerian hospital project once again proves the reliable performance of Perkins power in the critical standby power market.

With continuous advancement of medical infrastructure across Africa, the procurement demand for standby power supplies in local hospitals and medical centers keeps rising. Moving forward, complete-set manufacturers will continue leveraging Perkins’ full-range power platforms to provide customized soundproof and containerized generator set solutions for customers in North and West Africa, supporting the construction of overseas medical infrastructure.
